As the name suggests, the apartment project is located directly next to the Prater in the emerging 2nd district of Vienna. The starting point was the raw construction of the penthouse apartment and the originally planned sales concept. However, due to the early involvement as an architect, it was possible to make significant changes to the floor plan.
The goal was to create a simple, reduced, and monochrome interior design concept that offers the family’s sculptural heirlooms a worthy new home. The warm, cast white flooring serves as a neutral backdrop for the wooden objects, while the subtly brown-gray elm wood of the built-in furniture is harmoniously integrated into the restrained color palette.

Particular attention was given to the master bedroom. The originally planned three separate rooms for the parents – a wardrobe room, bedroom, and bathroom – were combined into a spacious master bedroom. A striking built-in wardrobe wall made of black-dyed MDF
connects the sleeping area with the bathroom, which is only separated by a subtle glass wall, blurring the boundaries between the two rooms. This transformation elevates the previously smaller, functionally separated spaces and expands them both spatially and atmospherically.
